Our Stay at the new Aloft Tulum

If you’ve been to Tulum in the past, you may not know about one of the newest hotels in the area. Aloft Tulum just opened last year and is a new gem in the downtown area. If you’re planning a trip to Tulum, be sure to add this hotel to your list!

Aloft Tulum is the cutest boutique hotel that is the perfect distance between town and the beach. It is walking distance into the main part of downtown on a street full of boutique hotels and trendy local restaurants. It is also a quick bike ride or taxi to the hotel zone on the beach and to several nearby cenotes! The hotel offers onsite bike rentals for $25 USD per day to help you easily explore everything Tulum has to offer.

The second you step into the lobby you’re met with unique tropical decor and a pathway into the Tulum jungle. The hotel lobby is full of activities like a pool table, life-size jenga, and the WXYZ Bar which is part of all Aloft properties around the world!

If a vacation relaxing by the pool is what you’re looking for, the hotel has you covered with two pools to choose from. Downstairs you’ll find the main pool which is family friendly, lined with plenty of lounge chairs and even has its own outdoor shower!

On the top floor of the hotel you’ll find the adults only rooftop infinity pool with some comfy cabanas to relax in! This was our favorite part of the hotel as it has amazing views of the Tulum jungle and even the Mayan Ruins in the distance! Here you can get poolside service from the Atico Rooftop Bar, listen to the DJ play, and watch the sunset over the jungle.

Tulum in general is a foodies paradise, but some of the best food we had on our trip was right here at the hotel!

You’ll have the option to add the breakfast package to your reservation and is well worth the extra money for what comes with it. You’ll get coffee or tea, your choice of one of the many fresh juice options, toast with butter and jelly, a plate of fruit, and your choice of an entrée!

For dinner, have some drinks and dine poolside at the Atico Rooftop bar while watching the sunset over the jungle. We got the pizza and duck tacos and it was by far one of our favorite dinners on our trip! Don’t forget to start off with some of the best chips and guacamole you’ll ever eat!

At the end of the day, head back to one of their cozy rooms and comfortable beds. Relax with some Netflix on the TV and prepare for another another adventurous day starting at Aloft Tulum!

We will definitely be back at this hotel the next time we are in Tulum!
